2012年，国家海洋局与教育部共同出资启动了“中国政府海洋奖学金”项目，主要用于资助南海、太平洋、印度洋周边国家和地区及非洲发展中国家的优秀学生、青年学者来华攻读涉海专业硕士或博士学位，为区域内的发展中国家培养相关专业的高级人才，加强各国间的国际海洋合作与交流，促进区域海洋和谐发展。海洋奖的培养院校为中国海洋大学、浙江大学、厦门大学、同济大学和哈尔滨工程大学。“中国政府海洋奖学金”项目实施6年来进展顺利，已在国际海洋合作领域形成了一定的影响力，受到相关国家和国际组织的高度评价。截止至2019年底，该项目已成功招收了来自亚洲、非洲、欧洲和拉丁美洲的国家和地区的200多名留学生。中国国家留学基金管理委员会负责该项海洋奖学金的招生录取和日常管理工作。
2020年度中国政府海洋奖学金现目前正在接受申请中，申请时间截止日期为：2020年4月15日。考虑到疫情的影响，2020年度采取网上申请并提交申请材料电子版的方式，暂时取消邮寄纸质材料的要求。请按照中国政府海洋奖学金招生简章的详细要求准确上传申请材料。如申请截止日期延长，将在第一时间通知，并在招生简章中予以更新。请密切关注招生简章以获取最新信息。
秋季开学报到时，请携带相关证书及证明材料原件以备查验。具体要求将列入《报到须知》随录取通知书一并寄出，请届时关注。一旦发现材料造假将取消入学资格。
一、申请人资格：
1. 申请人须为南海、印度洋、太平洋周边以及岛屿国家以及非洲发展中国家的非中国籍公民，身体健康。
2. 申请人须申请攻读与海洋相关专业的硕士或博士学位。
3. 申请人的学历和年龄要求（截止2020年9月1日前）：
（1）硕士生：本科及以上学历，年龄不超过40周岁；
（2）博士生：硕士及以上学历，年龄不超过45周岁。
二、招生专业和学习期限
我校相关涉及海洋、环境研究的专业，包括但不限于：海洋与地球科学学院、环境科学与工程学院、联合国环境规划署-同济大学环境与可持续发展学院、土木工程学院、电子信息与工程学院、法学院、化学科学与工程学院等。
根据不同招生专业的培养方案，硕士研究生学制为2-3年，博士研究生学制为4年。
有关招生专业信息，请参见附件《招生简章》、及同济大学留学生办公室网站及各学院网站。
三、奖学金期限：
硕士研究生：学制2-3学年，奖学金期限2-3学年。
博士研究生：学制4学年，奖学金期限最长不超过4年。
四、奖学金内容
受资助的留学生将享有与中国政府奖学金学生同样的待遇，免除学费和校内住宿费、提供综合医疗保险、资助相应的生活费（硕士生：3000元/月，博士生：3500元/月）。国际旅费自理。

Important Reminder: 2020 Marine Scholarship of China opening for applications
The Marine Scholarship of China for the year 2020 is now open for application, and the application deadline is April 15, 2020 (with all the online procedures completed and documents sent to contact person of School of Ocean and Earth Science, Tongji University).
The Marine Scholarship of China is jointly initiated by the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) and the Ministry of Education of China (MOE) for the purpose of providing financial support to outstanding students from the coastal countries or regions around the South China Sea, the Pacific and the Indian Oceans and African developing countries to study in China for a master’s or doctoral degree in oceanography or other related specialties.
Regarding the impact of COVID-19, all applications need submit materials online through CSC and Tongji University website, meanwhile all application materials listed in the Appendix shall be sent to the email addressbelow, DO NOT need mailing hard copies of materials. Please pay close attention to the website of International Students Office of Tongji University for the latest information.
Please bring the original certificates and supporting materials for inspection when you register for new term in autumn. The specific requirements will be listed in the notice of registration and sent along with the admission notice. Please pay attention at that time. The students will be disqualified if any false materials are found.

Scholarship and Fees
1. The duration for a master degree program is 2 to 3 years with scholarship support of 2 to 3 years, and for a doctoral degree program 4 years with scholarship support of 4 years.
2. Scholarship owners enjoy free tuition fee and other material fees, and will be provided with free accommodation and necessary medical services. Living allowances for the students are 3,000 RMB per month for master students, and 3,500 RMB per month for doctoral students (the same standard with other Chinese Government Scholarship.)
